The Benefits Of Hot & Cold Therapy:
Heat therapy works by improving circulation and blood flow to a particular area due to increased temperature. Increasing the temperature of the afflicted area even slightly can soothe discomfort and increase muscle flexibility. Heat therapy can relax and soothe muscles and heal damaged tissue.
Cold therapy is also known as cryotherapy. It works by reducing blood flow to a particular area, which can significantly reduce inflammation and swelling that causes pain, especially around a joint or a tendon. It can temporarily reduce nerve activity, which can also relieve pain.
Instructions For Use:
For Heat Therapy:
Place the flexible Hot and Cold pack flat in the microwave. Heat for 30 seconds on high, then at 10 second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Do not repeat heating more than 3 times. If the Hot and Cold pack is too hot, let cool before using. Remove Hot & Cold pack if it becomes uncomfortable. Do not apply for more than 20 minutes at a time.
For Cold Therapy:
Place reusable Hot & Cold pack in freezer for 1-1.5 hours but do not exceed 2 hours in a freezer storage bag. Remove Hot & Cold pack if it becomes uncomfortable. Do not apply for more than 20 minutes at a time.
Warning:
Always test hot and cold ice pack temperature prior to use. Overheating can cause damage or destroy compress. Prolonged use may cause injury to user including burns. For external use only. Do not use on infants. Never sit, lie, or lean against the compress. Do not puncture compress or ingest contents. Do not apply to sensitive/insensitive skin or open wounds. Use only for intended purposes. Do not fall asleep using compress. Use only under adult supervision. For chronic, extreme or prolonged pain, please contact your physician.
